Can architecture drive change? Grenseløs, a showroom located in the contested area of Grensen in Trondheim, embodies a political statement by pushing for the much-needed planning of the area. This project explores alternative architectural practices, focusing on reuse and the circular economy, testing the viability of a reuse-based construction industry.
In a design world often dominated by product-centric choices, Grenseløs challenges the norm. Here, design is driven by available resources, leading to a more vibrant and creative approach. The use of existing windows to determine building dimensions, incorporating textured facades with weathered materials, and repurposing small pieces of wood for flooring are just a few examples of how limitations can lead to beautiful and innovative solutions.
