By introducing a single, defining line that reconfigures public space, the project removes barriers and reclaims both public and natural realms within the dense concrete jungle. Along this line, abandoned buildings are transformed, repurposed to host a decentralized archaeological research center woven into the fabric of everyday life. This gesture offers Athens a vision of urban degrowth—not through subtraction, but through careful reactivation and spatial generosity. It is a strategy rooted in continuity rather than rupture.
This architectural strategy views time and space not as static conditions but as dynamic; in constant transformation, reshaping the urban palimpsest. Through material reuse and design for disassembly, the project embraces impermanence, creating a sense of temporal monumentality.
