How can water and natural elements be essential in urban planning? Skaala is a growing area nestled between three lines; Haakons VII gate, a reopened water course and a train track. Situated on the site of typical zwischenstadt, the project reclaims this fragmented landscape—using infrastructure and natural topography to generate a rich sequence of public spaces. Through a strategy of rewilding and careful densification, the plan invites coexistence between the built and the natural. The design unfolds as a spatial rhythm—where the essence lies in the various sequences that emerge between the intimate, colossal, the human-made, and the natural.
